Plasma TVs

Advantages of Plasma the Television
| Picture Quality |
Plasma TV’s have a higher resolution than a conventional CRT TV. They can also be viewed from almost any angle because of their wide viewing angle. |
| Design |
The slim, flat-panel display and lightweight design of a Plasma TV means it doesn't take up much space and looks fantastic. |
| Flexibility |
Can be wall mounted or free standing. |
| Energy Saving |
Uses less power than a conventional CRT TV. |
| Other |
Most Plasma TV's can accept PC input so you can use a plasma as a computer monitor.
Plasma TV's are magnetic proof so positioning home theatre speakers near a Plasma is no problem. |
Disadvantages of the Plasma Television
| Cost |
Expensive compared with conventional CRT TV's. |
| Lifetime |
Limited life span - up to 30,000 hours, compared to LCD TV’s which have approx. 50,000 - 80,000 hours. |
| Design |
Their narrow profile makes them prone to tipping if not fixed down firmly. |
| External Factors |
High resolution models (to reduce the amount of pixilation) are required if they are to be used as a computer monitor. |
| Other |
Many CRT TV's are now high definition or digital TV ready, and are still capable of providing excellent picture quality, colour performance, contrast and true blacks. In some cases, a high definition CRT TV can still display a better image than the newer TV types. |
